Snapshot
I wasn't initially going to post this entry, but Rex argued for it, saying it was a great snapshot of childhood. Running around in the woods and then being obnoxious in church? I suppose I must agree.
May 4, 1993
On Saterday Holly & Bonnie where here and we got up early and ate bisects for breakfast and whent outside and played in the woods. (I have woods in my backyard) We made a new fort and Holly found a vally deep in the woods but I said it was a canyon. She named it Holly Vally. Bonnie got cactus thorns in her and cried when I was taking her back to the house. She cried with her eyes all scrunched up and she ran into a branch with poky twigs and boy! did she howl! Mommy pulled out the thorns when we got to the house and Bonnie cried evan louder! But she got over it.
On Sunday when we sang hymms Holly and I sang funny like and made Bonnie crack up. When the guy in frount of us stood there was a paper boat beside him and I moved it so that when he sat down he sat on it! Then I acted real inncont and Holly and Bonnie could barly keep from laughing!

Lee's Story Book Edition 1
It is now time to introduce to you
The first selection I will be sharing is The Very Interesting Advenchors of...Ted, Fred, & Sarah!
Based on the spelling and handwriting it was written circa 1993.
Chapter One
Ted, Fred, & Sarah
Once apon a time a little boy lived with his mom and dad in an apartmant at the outskirts of the town. One day the mom packed two little sadwiches, one cookie, and 50 cents for a soda in his lunch to take to school.
As the boy was walking to school he passed a dump. A few other boys where looking at old comic mazagins that had been thrown away there. The boy sat down to look with them. As he did he set down the lunch box and forgot about it. Later the boys heard the bell ringing and raced to school. The boy left the lunchbox there.
Later, a fairy flew by and saw the sadwiches and cookie, (the lunch box top had been opened, I don't know why) and felt sorry for them.
So she cast a spell on them so they would have faces, arms, and legs. When they woke they rubbed their eyes and looked around. The fairy told them of their past and they grinned at each other. The fairy named one of the sandwiches Ted, and the other Fred. And the cookie, Sarah. Ted, Fred, and Sarah lived in the dump in the lunch box.
Chapter Two
Ted's Adventur With the Night Watchman
Ted was a livly thing, stub nose and a freckle face. Fred was more slower and quiter, but looked ezacly like Ted. Sarah was a choclat chip cookie with a pleasant face. A choclat chip was her nose. When the fairy had left them she had given them each a pair of roller blades.
So one night when Fred was reading a corner of a newspaper that he had found and Sarah was drawing on the wall of the lunch box with a pice of lead she had found to make it more prettyer, Ted got out his skates and began to skate around the dump.
Suddnly, he heard a twig snap and it was the night watchman! Ted tried to skid to a stop but couldn't make it so he acadently ran into a trash can causing it to fall over.
"Halt! Who goes there?" Shouted the night watchman, (being a formar millatary man.) Ted froze. "I said who goes there!?"
Ted tried to skate to the lunch box but ran into a old pfone, making it's resiver fall off and ring.
"We've got you covered!" Shouted the night watchman, Ted began to skate again. "Stop in the name of the wachman!" The wachman shouted. Ted skated in between the night wachmans legs, the night wachman felt something cold go between his legs, (wich was Ted of corse) and shuddered and said, "Whew, are there goasts around here or something?" Ted quikly skated to the safty of the lunchbox.
Chapter Three
Fred's Adventure in the Office
One hot afternoon Ted was making paper airplanes with bits of paper and Sarah was woundering if the fairy had made them so they wouldn't melt or rot, Fred decided to get out his skates and go skate in the night wachman's office.
When he got there the night wachman was sleeping in his cot. Fred put his hands over his ears because his snoring was dreadful! Fred looked under the night watchman's bed and wrinkled his nose. Never in his life had he seen a messyer place than under the night wachman's bed! There where dustballs and wadded up pices of paper, and pens, broken pencils and all this stuff. Suddnly, he saw a sight that made his stomec turn. In a far corner was a mouse chewing on a bred crust!
The mouse saw him too and began to run after him! Fred quickly skated to the hole in the wall from wich he came. Later he was safe at home at last!
Chapter Four
Sarah and the Kid from School
One day Ted and Fred wher acting up and Sarah couldn't stand it when they did that, so she got on her skates and began to skate around the dump.
Suddnly she saw a little girl walking home from school looking sad. "I wounder what's bothering her?" Sarah thought. The girl sat down on a old log and muddered, "Nothing for Show an Tell tomorrow! I'm doomed!"
Sarah had no idia what Show an Tell was, but it wounded very interesting, she would have liked to go up and ask the little girl what it was, but there was a rule in the lunch box that no-one could speak to a human least they get shown at fairs and carnevals. So she just wached.
The little girls eyes wandered around the dump. "Mebbe I could find something here." She muttered. She began to look around. Sarah quicly began to skate tword the lunch box, but mebbe she was a little to carless about hiding for the girl saw her.
"Hey Wow! Is that real?" She exclaimed. Sarah winced. Why did she have to see her? The girl began to chase Sarah kicking junk out of her way as she did. It gave quit a racket. The night wachman was sleeping but the raket woke him.
"Oh mannie, what now?" He mumbled, walking over to the window in his light blue with striped pajamas and bunny slippers and shouted, "Can't a body get some sleep without somebody kicken up a racket?" He emphasized it by shaking his fist.
"I'm sorry sir, I was just chasing an alive choclat chip cookie!"
"Just chasing a choclat chip cookie, yeah! I'll let you know if I see one, he said sarcasticly. Now go!" "Yes sir," she mumbeled and ran off.
Sarah had quikly skated back to the lunch box where Ted and Fred where bighting off their nails. "Man, we where worried about you!" Exclaimed Fred. "Yeah! We was sure you was a goner!" Added Ted. Sarah only grinned.
Chapter Five
The End
Ted, Fred, and Sarah lived in the lunchbox for quit a while! And they lived peacefuly too. The night wachman always felt a little scared whenever he was on potrole at night, remembering the fright he had had with Ted. And when the little girl told her friends at school about the adventore she had with Sarah everybody thought she had dreamed it up, till she thought herself tat she must have fallen asleep at the junk yard.
Well, it's time for Ted, Fred, and Sarah to say goodbye to you, and if they have any more adventures in the junkyard I'll be sure to wright about them, so goodbye for now!

July 21, 1993
Yesterday we went to Astroworld! It was fun! I roud one ride called the Viper and it went UPSIDE DOWN!
And: Strong evidence once again as to why no one should've been surprised I turned out a theatre person what with the early exposure to such avant-garde productions like a gender swapped Beauty and the Beast!
The truth of the matter is that we were constantly going to see wonderful shows growing up so I don't have that memory of "my first play" like many folks do, simply because we saw plays so often.
Do you remember your first play?
Note: If you are still not sure exactly who was on Adam's birthday poster, try reading the name out loud.
